Latest Sydney Luxury Home Renovation:
How stunning is this luxurious Sydney house renovation, pictured right, custom designed and project managed by Miniter.
This Vaucluse home is our latest project. The owners, who lived in Hong Kong, purchased the house in 2005. Originally from England, they had travelled extensively falling in love with Caribbean style interiors with a modern twist.
The house was an original fisherman’s cottage overlooking Watson’s Bay and the harbour of Sydney. The clients, whilst holidaying in Sydney, used the time to dream and create a wish list for the new transformation. The original house offered 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom/laundry, kitchen, lounge and dining with limited use of the balcony. Access to the rear yard was non existent with the staircase being unusable. The living quarters were located on one level with no parking and no entertainment area for the growing family. The veranda to the main floor was beyond repair from age and neglect.
Care Design & Planning:
With careful designing and attention to detail the house was redesigned and transformed. The exterior of the home was kept to its original style, however, there was a total transformation internally to a modern classic-style home with spacious rooms, high ceilings, large open entertainment rooms and veranda’s to take in the views of Sydney Harbour. Off-street parking gave clients extra privacy and protection and under a new roof is a new master bedroom, en-suite, walk-in-robe and study/bedroom with a balcony off the master bedroom.
Making the house bigger:
The mid-entry floor level changed to have 2 large bedrooms for the boys with their own en-suites opening out into the main kitchen/family room and massive open balcony. The balcony and kitchen/dining were connected by the use of large cedar sliding doors creating a massive internal/external room over 110 sqm, allowing the clients to open the doors and invite the harbour into their home.
Space for Guests:
The lower floor created a space for guest quarters with queen size bedroom, ensuite, lounge, kitchenette and balcony area with its own entrance. The laundry, guest powder room and games room are located to the rear close to the stairwell. In this way privacy was achieved as the client had many friends visiting from overseas, giving them their own space without interrupting the main living area of the home.
