The owners had purchased the 100 acres and commissioned a house be designed and built encompassing the true characteristics of an Australian Colonial Home. They wished to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney for the weekends and follow their dreams of owning some Semillon grapes in the Hunter Valley Region. The house was to be set on the land to take in the sweeping views of the vineyards and ranges of the Lower Hunter.

Their family was young, they wished to escape Sydney and enjoy the tranquil weekends of the Hunter Valley. They requested a well-designed house with high ceilings, wide verandahs to protect them from the summer heat and large rooms for accommodation and ability to entertain their friends and family. The rooms were designed with French doors fully screened to open the home to enjoy the fresh air and spill out under the verandahs.

The house was designed with 4 large queen bedrooms including 3 full bathrooms, with large family, kitchen and grand entertainment room with vaulted ceilings and huge open fireplace.  All rooms have 3m high ceilings with fully insulated walls and ceilings. An on site underground concrete water tank of 100,000 litres was installed to cater for the use of the house. The house was equipped with a modern kitchen and full AC throughout the home.

The house is now used as a weekend stay for many guests to enjoy over the years to come.
