David did a great job for us.
This included working to, and meeting, an agreed budget and timeline, using and coordinating very good trade contractors, mostly nominated by him but also some nominated by us. His attention to detail was excellent and the quality of the product is of great credit to him.
His diplomacy with a fairly demanding client was also excellent.
We are delighted with the house.

Miniter Projects are a well organised and professional project management and construction firm.  David Miniter takes the time to make sure your project is right.  He is on-site virtually every day and plays a very hands on role in quality control.
Our experience was very positive.  We didn’t have much time to be on site so we needed someone who was reliable and effective.  Unlike many friends who had horror stories of builders cutting corners, we found that regular practical suggestions were made to improve the design and the finished project.  We liked the way Miniter projects not only ensured that the finishes were quality but also the way they addressed important issues like storm water.
We recommend Miniter Projects to build your dream home.  Ours was completed on time and within the expectations that had been agreed in the project plan.
Peter and Roberta Delaney:
I have engaged David Miniter’s services over the last five year period on a number of construction, maintenance and renovation projects.
I own a large Victorian terrace on which David has overseen a number of projects including replacement of period features such as cornices, ceiling roses and fireplaces; the installation of an air-conditioning system, the re-siting of a carport, replacement of guttering and roof flashings; painting and landscaping.
He is currently acting as Project Manager for me on the renovation of two Federation semi-detached dwellings. The project has involved replacement of floorboards, cornices, ceiling roses, door furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, construction of a new bathroom, construction of a new dividing wall, replacement of all light fittings, replacement of floor joists, replacement of roof and guttering. In fact a total overhaul of the dwellings are taking place.
During the course of these projects I have always found David to be punctual, reliable and a man of his word. He has always time to fit in with my schedule in order that project meetings can take place. I have given him full authority to incur expenses on my behalf and have found him to be most trustworthy and efficient in his accounting on these matters.
David has an extensive knowledge of the building industry and has been able to reliably advise me on the alternative courses of action available. I have also found the tradesmen who he has engaged to be reliable, cost efficient and clean which are obviously key aspects in any construction project.
I have no reservation in recommending Miniter Projects to anyone looking for a Project Manager or Builder who is capable of taking the stress out of the frustrations associated with renovations and construction.
I would be happy to speak to this reference at any time.

Views on Applicants Performance on the Project

This project involved the most current technology and detailing available. Many components were integrated which involved a large amount of co-ordination of related trades and a comprehensive understanding of the construction process.

As project manager Mr. David Miniter co-coordinated and supervised all stages of construction. His understanding of procedure and extensive trade background made what could be a time consuming project for my company simply a pleasure to be involved with.

His high level of documentation was evident from the beginning as the client lived overseas during which phase his ‘follow up’ was exceptional.

Projects of this nature vary in scope both in design and costs continually throughout the design and construction phase. His detailed tracking helped greatly with what is normally the architects/designers roll.

David also displayed a high level of professionalism and responsibility in regards to ‘Occupational Health and Safety’ which is rare to see on a domestic site.

Mr. Miniter completed the project to standards equivalent to any builder I have been involved with in my twenty years in the industry. I look forward to working with David on future projects.

Tim Roberts:
Recently I has some work undertaken to improve the drainage at the back of the house. The work also included landscaping.
Miniter Projects was recommended by the Master Builders Association and from the initial contact we found David to be professional, reliable and pleasant.
Miniter Projects project managed the project for us. They arranged tenders and sub contractors and did the planning and coordination of the project.
The contractors arranged by David arrived when they said they would, completed their work quickly and left the area clean and tidy. David supervised the work and visited the site daily to check and resolve any queries they might have.
We are very satisfied with all aspects of the work and would use Miniter Projects for any further projects. We would be pleased to recommend them to any person in the future.
Michael J Byrnes OAM:

I, Terrence Dessaix, of Cromer Consulting Services have known David Miniter for more than 24 years in his capacity as a student in 1987 through to the current period of time in his duties as a Project Manager.

During David’s Building Former Clerk of Works I tutored him in the building licensing subjects including Accounts Management, Construction Management and Contract Management and formed the opinion at that time that David was a diligent, resourceful and highly competent student achieving reasonable grades through out the whole of the two year tuition period.

Shortly after David finished his T.A.F.E. course I become familiar with his family, specifically meeting his father Mr Fred Miniter, who at that time was one of the builders in the fore front of eco design and construction in domestic dwellings. At that point in time I was asked to undertake quality control checks on the majority of their works and observed David as a Building Forman with a high quality grasp of both site supervision and construction site safety methodology. Furthermore, he displayed strong reasoning and due diligence in his approach to his handing of sub contract labour which lead to high quality completion of building works. I would be of the opinion that buildings completed by David would be securely positioned as structures having a high degree of warranty performance.

I am also aware that David has had broad experience in Site Management, Foundation Material Awareness, Footing Design and Construction with involvement in Mind Subsidence and other environmental building construct issues. David’s site supervision and control together with the aforementioned control over sub contract labour would render buildings or dwellings to have excellent endurance and quality.

I have also carried out both dilapidation reports and quality control for private clients of David’s and have never received a complaint within the last 15 years, nor am I aware of any issue either during construction or after completion that has not been diligently and satisfactorily resolved by him.

In recommending David for either an exemption or a similar equivalent status to the diploma I would strongly suggest that David already holds sufficient awareness, knowledge and business acumen to carry off any of the subjects within the diploma itself.

Terry Dessaix:

We recently used Miniter Projects to manage the renovation of our kitchen / living / dining areas, involving:

  • structural works to the roof slab, including steel beam reinforcement (which required installation with a crane)
  • removal of walls and make-good, including reinstatement of ceilings, cornices, lighting and air-conditioning ducts
  • removal of 2 x french doors and replacement with a 5 metre bi-fold door, including new structural support over the opening and reinstatement of all finishes
  • removal, relocation and replacement of a fireplace, including replacement of the flue
  • removal and replacement of the kitchen, including all appliances and renewal of electrical and plumbing services
  • restoring all finishes, including repair and re-polish of parquetry flooring

While not particularly large, the project involved the coordination of many trades and was performed while our family and pets largely remained in occupancy throughout the works.

We were very satisfied with Dave’s management of the project, including the timeliness, professionalism and quality of workmanship of all his supervision and trades people. We would have no hesitation in recommending Miniter Projects for any building project, and we have, and will again, use their services to ensure that our building works go smoothly and with no surprises.

Alan & Lee-Anne:

When we bought a house in Sydney requiring complete renovation we faced a difficult task as we were living in Hong Kong. We appointed Miniter Projects after carefully evaluating his work, visiting current construction sites and reviewing the testimonials of his clients.

We found David to be very thorough and professional as well as cost-conscious. His advice to us as we finalized the designs was always sound and practical. He dealt with all aspects of the project, and arranged all the sub-contracting tradesmen who were reliable and of a high standard.

David navigated us through the minefield of building codes and planning requirements efficiently and diligently. He was unfailing proactive and cooperative and his vast experience allowed us to maximize all the outcomes during the project. He worked very well with the few external trades we used when fitting out the kitchen and dressing rooms, integrating them easily into the management project.

David made the entire project possible, and executed it to a high standard. With his help this renovation was not only made possible, but achieved a fantastic outcome for us, even though we were overseas for the majority of the time.

We were very impressed by his attention to detail, communication skills and above all, his integrity.

David I will always unreservedly recommend you as a project manager. Thinking about this, I realise we did not really thank you enough for all your advice, patience and guidance.

With 20.20 hindsight, I wish we had not rushed to move in, and had finished the last few bits and pieces off better: the downstairs floor, the lower verandah tiling and of course the roof leak.

I would happily do another project, or a business project with you as I respect your abilities and value your integrity – which is as rare as it is valuable in the business world.
